Psychics and Mediums

I was interested in knowing how many members were Psychic and / or Mediums and what are your specialties. Such as Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, Claircognizance, Clairalience, and Clairgustance, type of Channeling, Remote Viewing, ESP, Psychometry, etc. I would also love to read stories of how you came about having these gifts or abilities, and any stories you would like to share. I think we are all psychic, some are just more "in tune" then others :)

That said, I feel like I communicate with Spirit/God via many different mediums. I can sometimes hear that voice, see it in action, feel it in my tummy and any other way that Spirit wants to speak to me! I kind of feel like, I am open to all and any forms of communication with Spirit.

How about you Kimmy? You got any experiences you wana share with us??? I would love to hear!!!

Hi I am intuitive and a medium.For years I tryed to ignore it and still do sometimes. I think it's because I told a friend once when I was younger and she said I was one with the devil and never spoke to me again.But I am more comfortable now because I have met so many people who know that it natural and not freakish. Too make matters more crazy I am a very strong empath and can tell what people feel and think sometimes. I could do without that skill!! I do readings for friends sometimes but mostly I just will give a message if their loved one is hounding me.And they do!! I enjoy doing spirit release though.

Hi Kimberly, my grandmother was a trance medium so it was something I grew up with. We all have an energy system - aura and chakras and therefore all have the potential to be psychic/mediums to an extent. It's like an early warning system...how many times do we know that car at the junction is about to pull out in front of us or aunty Betty is about to call! Even hardened sceptics will often admit to sensing those types of things.

I see things - objects or words or people, sometimes an event that will happen or form the past but not as often. I hear things - sometimes in my voice or a spirit's own voice, a line from a song that has meaning. I feel things in my own body, my chakras are very sensitive. I will sometimes know someone's feelings or thoughts.

I love the responses here, and I thank all of you for taking time to respond. Now...we just need Karen to come through when she's available...:).......Ya know Star....it is one of those things where I know, it is my calling for Mediumship...however, I am still in the process of development. I suppressed allot growing up, because, as I shared, it was "Taboo" to speak of in my family. Now....I would like to experience more, so that I may help as many people possible for their and my...:).....Highest Good.

I guess another question, I have is....other than one being born with it...of course, that would make sense and make life easier, if one wants to pursue mediumship. However, is there an online home study class, to read and learn about various topics?

Another question I have is it ok to charge people for that particular type of service?
I want to help people with easing the pain of losing a loved one, and reassure their fears, or thoughts about the afterlife, and that their loved ones are doing fine, relay messages to them, and etc.

Hi Kimmy,

It's definitely ok to charge for mediumship...I use my abilities in my everday job and get paid for my time, mediumship is no different. Money is energy and it creates balance to receive for what we give.

Some will give services for free, which is fine, but one needs to be sure that it's not done for fear of asking for money or from a feeling that it makes one a "good" person...both are ego related and attracts the lessons to lose those mental concepts.

Mediumship is an innate ability that can be developed further. I can really recommend Steve Bradshaw at www.bradmonk.com and Steve Gunn at www.stevegunn.net. Both have helped me greatly and offer development over the phone and via the net.

I used to sit in Circle, they do vary in quality so one idea might be to see if there are any classes and Circles near you.

I totally agree with what Jen said, charging a fee for a service... There is nothing wrong with that! If the person sees value in it, then there is nothing wrong with selling yourself or services!

I TOTALLY agree that we all are psychic and can tap into this part of ourselves if we gave it a chance. To me, I compare it to our eyeballs and eyelids. If we open those eyelids, we can see! But a lot of people are afraid of what they don't know and so push it off.

In terms of learning more, find a metaphysical book store in your area. That will have a ton of information plus meeting other like-minded people. Mine offers classes, reiki, ferie stuff, etc.

Dear Kimmy and all,
I know I"m late to this discussion ... I do agree that we're all psychic and all have the same gifts. It's more a matter of whether we accept those talents and work with them to be more openly psychics/mediums.
There are many who have the same talents but they have contacted to learn other things this time around so that they will not serve in that function but focus on other areas of learning lessons.

There is, of course, a difference between being psychic and being a medium. I am an intuitive medium and I work with my council on all messages, all healings, all workshops, and classes. I trust them entirely.

As others mentioned, you can work on your skills in many ways. Reading books is one good way but I've found that often the authors wish you to only believe and do things their way while in the final analysis it matters what resonates with you and what your intuition tells you. That said, in the end, to me it's about how much you trust yourself -- once you do, the messages come easily, but it can be quite a process to unearth all our well-hidden talents and bring them back to the forefront as it means chipping away all the social conditioning we've been living under and with for most of our lives and discovering who we truly are.
I do believe that finding the right mentor/teacher is crucial in this process and that mentor will come when needed -- whether s/he's physically/geographically close to you or not does not matter. You'll know when you've found that person.

In the process there are many tools we can use -- instruments -- to help us become more confident until we reach that trust stage. For example, Angel Oracle cards (love them...they are good for clients as they provide them with something tangible to look at and constant verification of messages I'm to deliver), pendulums, and so forth.

What are your intuitive likes? What are you drawn to? Art, for example, is also mediumship in many ways...
