Healing Spirit Community

A Community of Spirits on the Healing Path!

Hello!

I don't know how many of you work with clients in any field, metaphysical or otherwise, but I find it very depressing when I interact with people who want to take advantage.

I've had a lot of clients over the summer and all had great experiences with me, as I did with them. My last two clients, however, were different. I guess when dealing with the public, you have to expect anything, but I might be too sensitive. It really saddens me when people try to take advantage of me. :(

Just today, I gave a psychic reading to a woman who confirmed everything I was saying. I picked up on lots of specific details about her life, her children's personalities, etc. It was down to the minute detail. She confirmed all of the things I was picking up on, and told me that so much of what I said made sense and resonated with her.

About an hour after the reading, she writes me an email saying I didn't pick up on much and wants a refund. I know I should just let this go, but it actually makes me sad. Since the person bought the reading from me on eBay, I am concerned she'll leave negative feedback for me because I didn't give her a refund. (Those of you in the eBay community might know how important feedback can be...) So, yeah, I am feeling sad that this person tried to take advantage of me (ie, get something for nothing), even though I provided the service she paid for, and did it well. :(

I'm sure I won't be dwelling on this much longer. It just happened about 15 minutes ago so it's fresh on my mind, but in the meantime, I feel sad.

For those of you who work with clients, have you come across this sort of thing? I know I'm lucky to have only had 2 of these situations out of a 100 or so. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to deal with this kind of thing?

Thank you!

Hi Karen I do feel for you, I have a friend called Steve who has the same thing happen to him sometimes, he used to work on Keen but doesn't anymore, while there he had a black list of people the problem was so bad as some people take pleasure in leaving bad feedback and will also do it to help the psychics they're friendly with.

I remember a time when Steve went to someone's house and read for about 6 there, everyone was happy but one couldn't accept what he said and turned all the others, he ended up leaving with nothing, and yet he's an excellent reader.

I get the impression that it can be a thankless job and one of the reasons why I've held back from doing it. I think certain venues are more likely to attract certain people, I think on ebay everyone is looking for a bargain so maybe attracts the sort that try to take advantage. It would be harder, for instance, in a public setting or maybe in your home to ask for the money back.

Maybe put in a disclaimer, no refunds on readings that last more than 10 minutes, because if they're still there talking after that time, something is hitting home. Or work from where you can reject the caller/client, tune into them first and see if they are the right client for you or put it out there to the Universe to only attract them. From a law of attraction point of view these clients might be being attracted to a part of you that maybe feels unsure about your abilities, in which case you could thank the experience and reaffirm your belief in your abilities.

Hope that helps,

Jen

Thank you, Jen. There are just going to be people like that sometimes and that's a fact. Like I said, I am quite sensitive to these things because I put forth so much good intention, time, and energy. I genuinely want to be of service! I love being able to provide assistance and service to others.

Thanks for your support and response. I appreciate it.
