Healing
I am open and receptive to the divine healing power within me.
I am filled with the breath of Spirit. The unlimited healing power of God revitalizes me in mind and body. If I find myself feeling a bit run down or harried by the tasks before me, I stop for a moment and become conscious of my breathing. I ta…

At the end of a cul-de-sac here in Lompoc, California is the original site of the Spanish mission La Purisima de la Concepcion de Maria Santissima (I hope I got the full name right). The mission was built at the very base of rolling hills overlooking the valley.
Well, in 1812, while the U.S and England had each other by the throat in a pointless war, a massive earthquake struck this region. The mission was destroyed. It was later rebuilt 5 miles east of town, where it stands today. All that is…

Just something that welled out of me. Nothing about this is true, rather, my own imagination at work.
I enjoy the night. Having said that, I must quantify why. 20 years ago I was struck by lightning, and that opened my senses to things beyond what most mortals are aware of. There are others like me, always having to wear sunglasses when the sun is up because our eyes are so sensitive, aware of the energy left behind by people when they leave this particular place in reality. And most aware of…

Contribution
I am love in action, contributing to the well-being of others.
God's love expresses through me to bless others. I perceive the people with whom I interact as the children of God they truly are. I look for opportunities to be of help, to appreciate and to make a positive contribution.
I find many…

A Way
God is my help in every need.
In "The Prayer of Faith," Hannah More Kohaus begins: "God is my help in every need. God does my every hunger feed. God walks beside me, guides my way, through every moment of the day."
With God, there is always a way to meet life's challenges, to rise above what appear to be limiting circumstances. There is alwa…

Unity
In our unity of spirit, we share love, wisdom and understanding.
In the plant kingdom, individual plants connect to other members of their species through a complex root system. Together they form a community in which individuals support one another and thrive.
I think of my human family as an interconnecte…

I know there is contention within us on our involvement in Afghanistan. I know most of us feel it's far to away to feel good about it, but please hear me out.
I feel since we started it, we need to finish. How and why, though...... War, in my mind, should be the last resort of a civilized nation. And wars are not won or lost on the battlefield, and Vietnam showed us. War is only part of the political process, and more can be achieved from giving the people a government they can trust than whole…

I’m really excited to learn that people are interested to know more about Shamanic Journey and how it works. More importantly, it seems, most are interested to see if they can use this tool in their own healing journey.
It is difficult to explain something that is better experienced but I will do the best I can to Explain Soul
journey, Soul Retrieval and Extraction.
First of all it is important to make clear that it is believed that the term Shaman has it’s roots in cultures that are Native to…

On the oldest street in my town, where the town first sprang to life, are two rows of enormous Stone Pine trees. These trees are worth millions of dollars and have been described in guidebooks as "the most beautiful stand of Stone Pine outside of Italy". Yes, we here in Lompoc are proud of our Stone Pines.
Unfortunately, the trees, being old, are beginning to show signs of mortality. We lost three of the trees to tree rot in the last six months. They have since been replaced by new Stone Pines,…

I decided to use an excellent suggestion from Anamere ( thank you) by listing the pros and cons of whether I should go to Ecuador or stay home and keep plugging at work. I decided to write my list here so objective eyes can see it.
Why I should risk the little money I have by going to Ecuador to work for a short time on an organic farm:
1. To broaden my horizons
2. To experience the rain forest before it disappears
3. To learn organic farming methods.
4. To climb a volcano! To be awakened by h…

Just a few short weeks ago, (no more than 4 or so) I was a wreck. Gripped by intense drug addiction that had consumed me for about 10 months or so, (but the addiction a problem many times for years before that). Mental health problems from being a young child, only made a hundred times worse when the drugs issue became serious in 1993. Living my whole adult life - until now - blundering from trauma to crisis to trauma, before having a chance to recover from the last. Abusive and destructive rela…

This isn't an essay or one of my anecdotes, but a scream for help. Decision-making has never come easily for me because I have learned not to trust my unpredictable epileptic brain. So I come here humbly seeking advice.
The problem: The economy has not treated me kindly. It is growing harder to find freelance writing work because of the mounting competition. In other words, I'm nearly broke.
Now, I have an opportunity to go to Ecuador for a month and a half to live and work on an educational g…
